On friends demand ....Mava cake

Mava Cake was something that our friends wanted us to try. Mava is basically used in preparing indian sweets.

Things required are eggs, baking powder, milk powder, sugar powder, margarine, butter, refine flour, super gel, mava and a measuring instrument.

Beat the eggs one by one. If you put both the eggs together the egg will collapse, so its better to beat the eggs one by one till the eggs are light and fluffy.

Add butter, margarine, mava, and sugar powder one by one and beat the mixture for 5 min.

This is how the mixture will look after adding the above ingredients .

In refine flour add milk powder, super gel and baking powder. Super gel is added because if there is any fault in beating the mixture, it would be corrected.

Put all the mixture in an 8" tin and tap the tin. Now the mixture is ready for baking.  Preheat the oven for 10 min at  180 degrees and then put the tin for baking.

Your cake is ready.

Mava cake is best to have it along your tea.

Print cake

Baking before for us was just trying to experiment desserts once a month. Giving two hours of our day has made us realised how much we love baking!!!
Print cake is basically a technique which is taught in the second level of our course. Not practising baking an a full time basises made us lack behing other student. So in order to get the print cake write we took up a challenge of making a cake for one of our good friend on her birthday.
Just a month before her birthday started practising and making different types of prints. Finally on 2nd September i took full 4 hours in making the cake. We know 4hours is too much , but for a beginner we were happy with the results.

Julia Child

Julia Child is our inspiration, she has bought a huge change in the field of cooking.
Her Quotes on life has surely motivated us.

Julia Child Quotes on life

Find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.

Noncooks think it's silly to invest two hours' work in two minutes' enjoyment; but if cooking is evanescent, so is the ballet

Some people like to paint pictures, or do gardening, or build a boat in the basement. Other people get a tremendous pleasure out of the kitchen, because cooking is just as creative and imaginative an activity as drawing, or wood carving, or music>

You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces - just good food from fresh ingredients.

Be a fearless cook! Try out new ideas and new recipes, but always buy the freshest and finest ingredients, whatever they may be. Furnish your kitchen with the most solid and workmanlike equipment you can find. Keep your knives ever sharp and -- toujours bon appetite!

If you're in a good profession, it's hard to get bored, because you're never finished-there will always be work you haven't done

Choco Slurrp !!

"All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt." - Charles M. Schulz.
Let it be any occasion , any happy or sad moment in our life chocolates have always been a part of it.

As being wannabe bakers in this part of the blog we will take basic homemade chocolate recipes every week and post it.This will help us to enhance our chocolate making skills and would love to share our experience in making them.
